The AAWTray.exe process is an executable file of the system tray icon for Ad-Aware application. It is used to provide instant access to options of checking for spyware and adware.
Recommendation:
The AAWTray.exe process is not an essential file to the computer system. Disabling it or enabling it depends on whether you use Ad-Aware or not.

Internal name: AAWTray. Found in the start up task bar. Disabling or exiting this service will cause Ad-Watch to stop functioning on your Operating System. This service uses core modules so even if you choose to set AAWTray service in services.msc to manual, it will reset itself by default, to automatic, the next time you run the application. This is taking place on my OS. I am running Windows XP Home SP2.
