AppleMobileDeviceService.exe

Flie Name: AppleMobileDeviceService.exe Product:
Author: Apple. Inc. Security Rating:

The AppleMobileDeviceService.exe process is a service for Apple Mobile Device, installed with Apple's iTunes 7.3. It enables iTunes to interact with the Apple iPhone and the Apple TV. It is also active in your tasklist if you are using IPhone. Since ITunes is used to sync the Iphone or load files on to it, ITunes is the install that has activated this process and its purpose is to sync up with your IPhone. This applemobiledeviceservice.exe file is not considered malware or spyware and is considered a safe file.

Recommendation:

To keep this process or remove it, it's down to the users' requirements. If you do not have an iPhone or an Apple TV, then you do not need this service to run in the background at every Windows boot-up. Otherwise, if you do have an iPhone, or an Apple TV that you will want to interface with iTunes, then leave this service enabled.

If you only have an iPod or an iPod touch you do NOT need this resource consuming program running. Turn it off.

I do have an iPod and use it fairly regularly, but whenever I turn my computer on, this activates as well, using almost 100% of my RAM until I manually end the process in my task manager. Is there any way to keep it from starting by itself?

But, I think it's useless when you didn't use any apple mobile devices. And I know that this process can appear, but when I turn on Glary Utility. This process doesn't show up or quickly disappear several times. I guess Apple want this process behind your awareness

Necessary to sync iPods and iPhones in iTunes. Otherwise, it's a hassle. You can probably get rid of it by going Start->Run->input "msconfig" and press enter->Services. It shows up in there and you can enable or disable it from there.

I do NOT have an Apple iPod or iPhone. I therefore have no use for this but no matter how often I disable it from running it keeps coming back. It is just like a virus and therefore should be treated like the malware it is and stopped from installing!

Part of Apple Mobile Device Service Trying to stop the process does not work as it is configured to relaunch as a service by -- Services and Controller app -- services.exe Since I do not use iPod or any Apple Mobile device, the service could be uninstalled from the add/remove control panel
