The tray-accessible button for Norton Ghost, gives you messages from the Norton Ghost program, lets you know with a visible green-hourglass when Norton Ghost is doing a backup -- which is useful to know when your system slows down to a crawl for no otherwise apparent reason. Norton Ghost backups stored on a different disk/partition will save your bacon if your Windows system restore points get trashed by disk error or virus.
