The PopMan.exe process is a part of the PopMan from CH-Software. PopMan is a POP3 and IMAP4 manager which helps list all e-mails received on your incoming mail server. With PopMan, you needn't load these mails completely, as you can delete unwanted emails directly from the server. PopMan can also check your email accounts in the background and notify you as soon as new emails arrive. It provides preview functionality for you to see whether e-mails contain useful information, or whether they are just spam.
Recommendation:
The PopMan.exe process is not a system critical file. But is is required for PopMan to work properly. It can protect your seytem against virus in emails. If you use PopMan, you should never disable the PopMan.exe process.
