The SeaPort.exe process is a part of Search Enhancement Pack from Microsoft. It comes with Windows live application installations, like Windows Live messenger, or Windows Live writer. The SeaPort.exe process enables the detection, download, and installation of up-to-date configuration files for Microsoft Search Enhancement applications. For example, with this process, search enhancement features such as search history can work correctly. In addition, this process  is set to Automatic and runs automatically and continuously upon startup regardless of whether any searches have been performed or browser windows opened. It is considered safe and is not virus or spyware related.

Recommendation:

The SeaPort.exe process is just an application from Microsoft and is set to Automatic. No need to worry about it. It is not a virus. It is a user invoked program and a normal part of PC operations.

This software caches your RAM with stuff from your hard drive (slower) and brings it to your RAM (faster - Random Access Memory) and that way the access times to your hard drive are less frequent thus it should speed up your computer.

The good news is that SeaPort is not a virus, malware, Trojan, or other unsavory software. The bad news is that it does seem to use system resource for a dubious benefit and does not easily go away. The really bad news is that Microsoft seems to have decided to use the computer users are dummies mentality on this one.
