StartUp Cop Pro, from PC Magazine/Ziff Davis, is a wonderful startup manager utility that shows you where startup programs reside and allows you to delete, disable or delay-start them. Version 4, launched April 2009, adds viewing and deleting/disabling/enabling Explorer shell extensions, IE BHOs etc, recording notes on each process, and creating reports on one or all startup processes.
