acs.exe

The acs.exe process is a part of Atheros Configuration Service, which provides additional configuration and options for Atheros Wireless LAN devices and facilitates its operation. This process can be seen on many computers with Atheros wireless, as well as in the drivers of any wireless cards that use the Atheros chipset, such as D-Link, Netgear, and Linksys cards.

Recommendation:

The acs.exe process is not an essential file to the system performance; however, it is recommended not to be disabled. If you terminate this process, you may lose your wireless networking functionality. If you do not use wi-fi, you can safely terminate or uninstall this service.
