This is a \"work unit\" from \"BOINC\" -- the Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing.
That is, a family of distributed computing projects. It includes medical, scientific, and last but not least, \"SETI,\" the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence.\"
The problem is that the file-names that we clients download change frequently as the projects progress. I imagine it would be difficult for a utility to maintain an updated list of BOINC files.
Contrarily, it is a shame that so many computers waste unused clock cycles that could have been used to help with the research projects.
